Bang Edutainment sees boast from London Masons
The London Masons and the Masonic Charitable Foundation has donated £5,000 to support BANG Edutainment is a charity delivering projects for young people aged 8-25, designed to develop functional, life and work-related skills through a range of creative and focused developmental programmes in order to enable them to achieve their life and career goals, who are living or going to school in Brent.
BANG’s first project, VINYLOGY DJ course, was delivered at Lisson Green estate and the Stonebridge Annex Youth Club DJ Spooney becomes a patron for BANG. Followed by Life FM (later to be called BANG radio) started as a community, media and training platform for local people. An old betting shop on the Stone bridge Estate is refurbished to use as the radio station 15 adults and 15 young people trained to broadcast live on air for 28 days.
Since 1999, 5,000 young people have attended and benefited from BANG’s work in the community. There programmes change to meet the changing needs of the local community. Over the last few weeks, BANG has been delivering its new and exciting “Health is Wealth” programme which isn’t just about playing sports, it’s about engaging in something new, making new friends, learning the importance of staying active and most importantly, having fun! Three events with Dance classes, athletics and a sailing course are being run. The “Health Is Wealth” summer programme is for young people between the ages of 8 – 13 years old. It is a specifically designed programme that gets young people who live in Brent engaged in a range of sporting activities that builds their confidence, self-esteem and fitness.
